YORK- Guy J. Alosa, Jr., 77, died on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Georgette (Westerman) Eveland-Alosa, to whom he was married for 16 years. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2015 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with Fr. Carl Tancredi officiating. A viewing will be from 12 to 1 p.m. prior to the service. Born on March 13, 1937 in Concord, New Hampshire, he was a son of the late Gaetano and Teresa (Federico) Alosa. Guy graduated from Drexel University with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. Before coming to York in 1972, he was one of the youngest VP’s in Fidelity Bank working in their Trust Department. He was hired to come to York to create a mobile home park, which became Starview Countryside Community. Afterwards, he ran his own construction company building new homes and completing inter-city rehabs. In 1986, Guy went into real estate and joined Commercial Realty Specialist Inc. as a minority partner. In 1990, he purchased the company and continued as Real Estate Broker with national restaurant clients working in four states finding site locations and negotiating the deals and contracts. Mr. Alosa was instrumental in acquiring YorkArts’ first permanent home, served on the Board of Directors from 1990 through 2001 and became President Emeritus. Mr. Alosa was a member of St Rose of Lima Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer, Philadelphia sports fan, enjoyed playing poker, birds and traveling with his wife. Guy was also a member of a Barbershop Quartet. Along with his wife, Georgette, Guy is survived by one son, Stephen Alosa and his wife, Giovanna of Jarrettsville, MD; two stepsons, Bud Eveland and his wife, Beth of Dover and Scott Eveland and his companion, Sandee Gallagher of Hampstead, MD; three granddaughters, Marie, Rhianna and Emily; and one sister, Angela Tolomeo of Philadelphia. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Pat Alosa and Frank Alosa; and two sisters, Lennie Brisgone and Louise Valentino. Guy is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
