Gregory S. Landis

YORK – Gregory S. Landis, 63, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at his home. Born January 15, 1953 in York, a son of the late Edgar and Anna (Shelley) Landis, Greg was a 1970 graduate of York Vo-Tech. He was a machinist at Borg-Warner Corp. and its successors, York Intl. and Johnson Controls, where he retired after 38 years of service. He was a member of Prince AA, Ninth Ward Republican Social Club, Twelfth Ward Democratic Club, Shiloh American Legion and West York VFW. He was a US Air Force veteran of The Vietnam War. Mr. Landis is survived by two sons, Adam C. Landis and wife Catherine of York and their son, Brayden and Scott R. Landis and wife Casey of York and their children, Carter and Brendan; seven brothers, Edgar “Eddie” Landis, Jr., Robert “Zeke” Landis, John Landis, Frank Landis, Terry “Ace” Landis, Harry Landis and Charles “Chuck” Landis all of York; four sisters, Nancy "Nan" Wertz, Betty Jane "Bet" Dobson, Brenda Eckenrode and Joyce Lentz all of York; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael "Mike" Landis; and a sister, Debra “Debbie” Landis. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, February 22, 2016 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with a Flag Folding Detail provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Pastor Bob Riedy will be officiating the service. A viewing will be held from 7-9:00 PM Sunday and 9-10:00 AM Monday at the Funeral Chapel.
