Gottfried T. Pap Ted Schmidt IV, age 79, of Lock Haven, died at Rose View Center in Williamsport on Sat. Nov. 6, 2010. He was born in Lock Haven on Sept. 8, 1931, son of the late Gottfried T. Schmidt III and Louise C. (Conklin) Schmidt. He worked as a foreman in the heavy construction business, serving for over 30 years with the David T. Webb Co. and later with Glenn Hawbaker Construction Co. until his retirement. Gottfried served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and was a member of the Jersey Shore American Legion and the Castanea Fire Co. He served as an active member of the Woodward Township Sewer Authority, was an avid hunter, and loved spending time with his family. Surviving are his daughters: Kathy (Robert) Bryan of S. Williamsport, Jody Kaluzny of Oklahoma, Amy Jol Doud of Cogan Station, Pat Lucas of Grass Flats and 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother: Dean K. Schmidt of Loganton, brother-in-law: Terry McCauley of Jersey Shore, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother: Robert. Funeral services will be held at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall at 7:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, 2010. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Private family interment will take place in Dunnstown Cemetery at the familys convenience. Memorials are requested to the Clinton Co. Unit of the American Cancer Society, 1948 E.
