WINDSOR – Gordon J. “Jake” Senft, 84, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013 at his home. He was the husband of Pauline M. (Saylor) Senft with whom he shared 23 years together. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 8:00 PM Monday, January 28, 2013 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with Certified Celebrant, Betty Frey officiating. A viewing will be held from 6-8:00 PM Monday at the Funeral Home. Full military rites will be provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard at the Funeral Home. Private burial will be in Paddletown Cemetery. Born September 11, 1928 in York a son of the late William and Irene (Schaffner) Senft, he retired from Olin Corp. in 1991 after 31 years of service. Jake was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan and enjoyed woodworking, flowers, and especially spending time with his granddaughters, Taylor and Kaylee. He had been a member of Grace Lutheran Church, York. Mr. Senft was a US Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. In addition to his wife, Mr. Senft is survived by two sons, Paul and James Senft of York; a stepson, Randy Barnhart of York; a daughter, Brenda Doll of Glen Rock; a stepdaughter, Tammy Snyder of Red Lion; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and two sisters, Frances Sigel of Dover and Phyllis Grove of Lewisberry.
