Gordon H. Smith

York--Gordon H. “Bim” “George” Smith, Jr., 81, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018 at York Hospital. A Celebration of Life Tribute will begin at 4PM, Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Lanna’s Residence in Springettsbury Township. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangments. Born February 20, 1937 in York, he was a son of the late Gordon H. Smith, Sr., and Anna M. (Augsburg) Smith. He was employed with Standard Register for 32 years and later worked in the Seafood Department at Weis Markets. Mr. Smith enjoyed drinking coffee with John and Duke and loved spending time with the dogs. He served in the United States Navy and formerly volunteered as a driver with Canadochly Ambulance. He is survived by a daughter, Lanna M. Storeman and husband, Michael of York; one sister, Sandra J. Burkholder of Myrtle Beach, SC and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Dale, Ronald, Richard, and Floyd Smith and one sister, Dawn Smith. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to SPCA Lancaster Center, 848 S.
