Glorya M. "Miles" Reese

AVIS - Glorya M. “Miles” Reese, 86, formerly of Mill Hall, died Monday, January 9, 2017 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She was born on January 5, 1931 in Berwick and was the daughter of the late Mahlon and Martha (Kreamer) Miles. Glorya was married to Joseph M. Reese who died in 1974. She was the first female newscaster in the country and worked for WBRE as “Rory Miles”. She and her late husband owned and operated R/C Model Airplanes in Mill Hall in the late 1960’s. Glorya is Survived by one son; William T. Reese of Mill Hall, one daughter; Marla Burns of Palm Beach, FL, three grandchildren; Ashley, Aaron and Angela and three great grandchildren. A gathering of friends and family will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 15, 2017 at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall.
