Gloria R. (Decker) Bressler

York- Gloria Romaine (Decker) Bressler, 90, passed away on Friday, December 14, 2012 at the York Lutheran Home at Sprenkle Drive. She was the wife of her beloved Jean Frederick Bressler, to whom she was married for 66 years. The couple was married on April 27, 1946. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 17, 2012 at 3:30 P.M. at the Fellowship Hall of Kelly Manor, 750 Kelly Drive, York, PA. Burial will be private at Greenmount Cemetery in York. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 1551 Kenneth Road, York, PA 17408 is in charge of arrangements. Gloria was born on March 13, 1922 in York. She was the daughter of the late James Adam and Dorothy (Ness) Decker. She was a lifetime member of Union Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School classes for many years. She was a professional seamstress and also worked for the Dentsply Company and Archie K. May Jewelers. Along with her husband, she is survived by two daughters: Pamela Bressler Williams and her husband G. Lance, of Jamesville, VA; and Katharine Susan Bressler, the widow of the late Richard B. Kern, of Canadensis, PA; two grandchildren: Donna Bressler Kern, of Los Angeles, CA; and Peter Bressler Kern of Canadensis, PA; three sisters: June Patterson of Dover, Lois Paules of New Freedom, and Doris Koskela of Texas; and a brother James Decker of York. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd and Russell Decker. The family would like to thank Dr. Kumar and the nurses and staff of the York Lutheran Home at Sprenkle Drive for all of their special care and attention while Gloria was there, as well as the Compassionate Care Hospice.
