Gloria Marie Kahler

YORK- Gloria M. (Benedick) Kahler, 64, of York, died Monday, October 8, 2007. She was the beloved wife of Samuel R. Kahler. The couple celebrated their 20th year anniversary on June 29, 2007. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be 10am Thursday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion. A viewing will be 9-10am at the funeral home. Burial will be private. Gloria was born July 7, 1943 in Strinestown, a daughter of Albert and his late wife, Dorothy (Kern) Benedick. She was a graduate of Northeastern High school, class of 1961. Gloria was employed with York Container Co., York as a computer operator for inventory control for 44 years. She was very active with the Hershey Bears hockey team. Gloria was the past president of the Women's Auxiliary for the team and traveled around with the team. She belonged to many ladies clubs and was very social. In addition to her father and husband, Gloria is survived by a son, Troy L. and his wife, Yvonne Kahler of York; a daughter, Lynette D. and her husband Mike Shippely of Spring Grove; five grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Lucabaugh and Faye Potteiger.
