Gloria M. (Young) Gruver

DALLASTOWN – Gloria M. (Young) Gruver, 92, joined her husband in heaven on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Misericordia Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in York. She was the beloved wife of P. Lee Gruver who passed away February 24, 2023. The couple celebrated 71 years of marriage on February 2, 2023.

Born January 19, 1931 in Winterstown, she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Thelma (Geesey) Young. Gloria graduated from Red Lion High School in 1949. She worked in various sewing factories and made custom draperies from her home. She was a member of Winterstown UM Church. Being an excellent cook and baker, none ever left her home with an empty belly. Gardening, sewing, traveling, and spending time with her family were her favorite activities.

Gloria is survived by her sons, Randy and his wife JoAnna Gruver of Felton, and Joel and his wife Judy Gruver of Dallastown; grandchildren, Michael and Timothy Gruver, Ashley Donley, and Casey Billet; great grandchildren, Weston Donley and Caroline Billet; three sisters, Linda Flinchbaugh, Faye Hershey, and Mary Beth Caldwell; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Joann Young; and two brothers, H. Lee Young, and Dale Young.

A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at a later date. Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements.
