Gloria M. Deshong

WINDSOR – Gloria M. (Snyder) DeShong, 88, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023 at her home. She was the wife of the late Robert E. DeShong.

A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. A visitation will be held from 1-2:00 PM Saturday at the Funeral Home. The family requests casual dress for the service. Born July 8, 1935 in York, a daughter of the late George and Virginia (Koch) Snyder, she was a graduate of William Penn Senior High School. Mrs. DeShong had worked at York Dispatch and later at Schaefer Wholesale Florists, where she retired. Gloria was very active with the Red Lion Area High School Band Parent’s Club while her children were in high school. She also enjoyed crocheting, reading, and watching horror movies.

Mrs. DeShong is survived by three sons, Michael L. and wife Cynthia DeShong of Dallastown, Robert T. and wife Jan DeShong of Dallastown, and Brett S. and wife Marci DeShong of Red Lion; seven grandchildren, Devan DeShong, Lindsay Hale, Bobbi Jo Shaffer, Travis DeShong, Marcine Kite, Chanyn Wise, and Kylee DeShong; 10 great grandchildren; and a brother, Charles Snyder of Red Lion. Mrs. DeShong was preceded in death by a son, Marshall DeShong; and a daughter, Roxy Sue DeShong.
