Gloria E.J. (Swartz) Haugh

Red Lion—Gloria Elizabeth Jeanette (Swartz) Haugh, 82, went into the arms of Jesus, Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Manor Care Health Services-Dallastown. She was the wife of the late Mervin H. Haugh to whom she was married for 53 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10 AM, Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with Certified Celebrant Betty Frey officiating. A viewing will be held from 9-10 AM, Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born June 28, 1933 in York, she was a daughter of the late Harry L. and Rebecca E. (Eveler) Swartz. She attended Red Lion High School. She was employed at the House of Windsor for many years and later with Harley Davidson for 26 years until her retirement. She loved her family and often brought flowers when visiting. She loved her pets, baking, puzzles, bingo, collecting Salt & Pepper Shakers and decorating for Christmas. Mrs. Haugh is survived by one daughter, Tammy L. Hengst and her husband, Chris; She was very proud of her two grandchildren, Sgt. Aaron C. Hengst and Alyssa C. Hengst; one sister, Shirley Holtzinger, and several nieces and nephews, including, Georgianne Boswell whom Gloria called her “Guardian Angel” and was like another daughter. She was preceded in death by five siblings, Evelyn Frey, Virginia Sprenkle, Daisy Rexroth and Henry and George Swartz. Mrs. Haugh was a resident at Manor Care-Dallastown for the past 2 years, the family would like to thank the staff for all their care. Gloria disliked black at funerals, but she loved Christmas so please wear Christmas attire.
