RED LION – Glenn W. Leiphart, 87, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at York Lutheran Home at Sprenkle Drive. He was the husband of the late Dorothy L. (Fake) Leiphart. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, March 11, 2013 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with Rev. Hank Steinhilber officiating. A viewing will be held from 9-10:00 AM Monday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with full military rites provided York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born December 31, 1925 in Lower Windsor Twp., a son of the late Troy E. and Fannie (Kopp) Leiphart, he retired from Caterpillar Inc. in 1984. Mr. Leiphart was both a founding and life member of Craley Fish and Game Club and was a member of North American Hunter. He enjoyed hunting and fishing at Whispering Pines Hunting Camp and fishing in Ocean City, MD. During the 1940’s, Glenn was a semipro baseball player in Florida and later played many years in the twilight leagues in York County. He was a US Marine Corps veteran of WWII. Mr. Leiphart is survived by a son, Shane P. and wife Melissa Leiphart of Bend, OR; three grandsons, Ryan, Patrick, and Grant Leiphart; four brothers, his twin brother Dale and wife Peggy Leiphart of Airville, Allen Leiphart of York, Robert and wife Gail Leiphart of Red Lion; and Ronald and wife Sandra Leiphart of Craley; a sister, Luella Kise of York; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
