Glenn E. Henry

RED LION – Glenn E. Henry, 86, passed away Monday, December 2, 2024 at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Marilyn Y. (Fisher) Henry.

A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Freysville Zion Community Church, 2595 Freysville Road, Red Lion, with his Pastor, The Rev. Ann B. Overmiller, officiating. A visitation will be held from 10-11:00 AM Saturday at the Church. Burial will be in Freysville Zion Cemetery. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Henry was born on October 4, 1938 in York County, a son of the late James Adin and Romaine Evelyn (Wineka) Henry. He attended Red Lion High School and then began working at his grandfather’s store, Wineka Feed Service in Red Lion. Glenn’s career then transitioned to Ryder’s Well Drilling, and later retired from Quaker City Paper & Chemical Company. Mr. Henry was a lifelong member of Freysville Zion Community Church. Glenn and Marilyn enjoyed 64 years together, including flounder fishing in Chincoteague, VA, taking adventures in their camper, and listening to bluegrass music. 

Mr. Henry is survived by three daughters: Yvette E. and husband Cliff Engle of Windsor; Whitney J. Henry and wife Nancy Horvatic of Westcliffe, CO; and Nicole L. Henry of Minneapolis, MN; two grandchildren, Troy and wife Jessica Engle, and Serwyn Rogers; and four great grandchildren: Molly, Claire, Trae, and Charlotte Engle; and a sister, Joyce and husband Paul Ilyes of Red Lion. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Adam Engle.
