Glenn D. Meyer

York—Glenn D. Meyer, 80, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at his residence in Manchester Township. He was the husband of the late Joan G. (McKinley) Meyer. A Celebration of Life Service will be 7PM, Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York with the Rev. James Parker officiating. A viewing will be held from 6-7PM, Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Born June 29, 1937 in York, he was a son of the late Raymond J. and Dora M. (Brandt) Meyer. He was employed with the Carpenters Union—Local 191 and later as a field superintendent with Raytheon Corp where he retired from in 1997. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and was a member of the American Legion Post 791 and VFW-Post 8951. He was also a member of the Free & Accepted Masons—Zeredatha Lodge 451 in York, Viking Athletic Assoc., and the York Motorcycle Club. Mr. Meyer is survived by one daughter, Jody L. and her fiancé, Michael of Egg Harbor Twp., NJ; one son, William C. and wife, Lori of Mt. Wolf; two grandchildren, Ashley and Kendra; three brothers, Clair E. Meyer of Mt. Wolf, Dean A. Meyer and wife, Joyce of Spring Grove and Carl N. Meyer and wife, Peggy of Ohio; one sister, Roma J. Schriver of Mt. Wolf; sister-in-law, Charlotte Meyer of York and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Scott and a brother, Ray Meyer.
