YORK- Glenn A. Grove, 85, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Manor Care Health Services- Kingston Court. He was the husband of Audrey V. (Becker) Grove. The couple celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary this past August. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ, 1569 W. Market Street, York, with his Pastor, The Reverend Dr. W. Arthur Grahe officiating. A visitation will be held from 12-1 PM prior to the service. Inurnment will be held in Greenmount Cemetery with the York County Veterans Honor Guard providing full military honors. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, is in charge of arrangements. Born September 3, 1930 in York, Glenn was a son of the late Lloyd Albert and Erma (Leber) Grove. He was a graduate of York High, Class of 1948. He worked as a photographer and engraver for White Rose Printing and Engraving until his retirement. Mr. Grove was a member of St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ and served as treasurer and on the consistory for many years. He was a member of the VFW and the Saw Mill Hunting Club. Glenn loved the outdoors, camping in the mountains and family vacations to Myrtle Beach and Disney. He enjoyed archery and fishing and his many fishing trips to Canada. Mr. Grove served our country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. In addition to his wife, Audrey, Glenn is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Grove of York; a brother, Jack Grove of Glen Burnie, MD, and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Mr. Grove was preceded in death by a brother, LeRoy Grove. Memorial contributions may be made to Jessica & Friends Community, 1625 E. Market Street, York, PA 17403, or St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ, 1569 W. Market Street, York, PA 17404, or Heartland Hospice, 3417 Concord Road, Suite C, York, PA 17402. The family would like to express a special thank you to all the nurses, aides, and activity directors at Manor Care that offered such wonderful care for Glenn over the past three and a half years. They would also like to give warm thanks to Heartland Hospice for their kind and loving care they provided for Glenn.
