Glenda M. (Showalter) Schroll

YORK- Glenda M. (Showalter) Schroll, 64, died on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at York Hospital. She was the wife of John L. Schroll, Jr. The couple celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary on June 20th. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with the Reverend JP Bohanan of Bethany United Methodist Church officiating. A viewing will be from 9-10 a.m. prior to the service. Born on May 31, 1948 in York, she was a daughter of the late Glen and Dorothy (Smith) Showalter. Glenda worked as a lead person for Fincor Electronics until her retirement. Mrs. Schroll enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was always there to offer a helping hand to family and friends. Along with her husband, John, Glenda is survived by a son, John Schroll III of Dillsburg; a daughter, Dorothy Brown and her husband, Lynn of York; five grandchildren, Trevor, Zachary, Kayla, Jessica and David; six great grandchildren, Jayson, William, Leighton, Bryce, Colton and Peyton; three brothers, Glen Showalter and his wife, Betty of York Haven, William Showalter of Florida and Harold Showalter of Cly; five sisters, Betty Usry and her husband, John of Manning, SC, Linda Tippett and her husband, Ted of Inwood, WV, Donna Showalter of Lovettsville,VA, Mary Hunt and her husband, Carl of Dale City, VA and Tina Winski of Bristoe, VA; one step brother, Gary Frey of Dacula, GA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Phillip Showalter. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 924 N. Colonial Ave., York, PA 17403.
