Gladys V. (Smith) Myers

Red Lion—Gladys V. (Smith) Myers, 93, died Sunday, July 17, 2011 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Charles W. Myers. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10 am, Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with her pastor, the Rev. James E. Van Zandt and her son, Rev. Gregory C. Myer, officiating. A viewing will be held from 9 to 10 am, Thursday, at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Mt. Rose Cemetery. Born September 10, 1917 in Dallastown, she was the daughter of late Edward and Mayme (Fishel) Smith. She was a loving and caring homemaker for her husband and children and later a devoted grandmother and great grandmother. A member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Red Lion, she was also part the church’s 50 year club. Mrs. Myers is survived by a daughter, Brenda L. Garee and her husband, Ronald of Red Lion, a son, Rev. Gregory C. Myers and his wife, Deborah of Hazelton, four grandchildren, Melissa Wilson, Christian Garee, Jason Myers and Jared Myers, and five great grandchildren, Justin Wilson, Alyssa Garee, Joshua Wilson, Tyler Garee and Landen Garee.
