RED LION - Gladys M. (Herbst) Taylor, 72, passed away Monday, March 30, 2009 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Bruce E. Taylor. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 3, 2009 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. A viewing will be held from 1-2:00 PM Friday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born June 1, 1936 in Red Lion a daughter of the late Emory and Margie M. (Zeigler) Herbst, she had worked at Young's Store, Red Lion Movie Theater and AutoCraft Box Co. Mrs. Taylor was a graduate of Red Lion High School; member of Red Lion American Legion Ladies Auxiliary; and enjoyed reading, gardening, and her beloved cat "Bunnie" and cockatiel "Dundee;" and collecting Elvis memorabilia. Gladys also loved spending time with family and her special friends, Denny and Diane Allen; and reminiscing with Elsie Spence Unger. Mrs. Taylor is survived by a son, Wade E. Taylor and fiancè£ Carol Keiser of Red Lion; four grandchildren, Zachary E. and wife Heather M. Taylor, Joshua E. Taylor, Mallory A. and husband Donald J. Book, and Jade M. Taylor and fianc矒obert P. Pichler; two step grandchildren, Dawn R. and Dylan J. Keiser; a great grandson, Brendan E. Taylor; four brothers, Edward Herbst of Winterstown, Eugene Herbst of Dallastown, Dean Herbst of East Prospect, and Junior and wife Carolyn Herbst of Red Lion; a sister, Ellen Wierman of Red Lion. She was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Herbst and a sister, Alma Smith. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice of Red Lion, 2 N.
