Gladys M. (Ewell) Grove

YORK- Gladys M. (Ewell) Grove, 94, of York Township, died Monday, February 6, 2012 at York Hospital. She was the wife of George N. Grove. The couple celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on December 17th. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 10, 2012 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York. The Reverend Jim Ward will be officiating at the service. Viewings will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday and 9-10 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Mrs. Grove was born in Fawn Grove on December 30, 1917, daughter of the late William L. and Lottie J. (Burkins) Ewell. She was an Avon Representative in York County. Mrs. Grove attended Faith Fellowship of York County, was a member of Pearl Harbor Survivors Auxiliary and a 1938 Graduate of Fawn Township High School. Mrs. Grove leaves two daughters, Linda Ferree and Patricia Fritz, both of York; three grandchildren, Marc Ferree of Mt. Joy, Eric Ferree of Seven Valleys, and Nicole Harmon of Culpepper, VA; and a sister, Hazel Muller of York. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Vencell and Ruth Rohrbaugh and two brothers, Paul and Glen Ewell.
