Gladys I. Opsitos

YORK- Gladys Irene (Fleagle) Opsitos, 76, passed away Friday, May 18, 2018 at Spirit Trust Lutheran in York. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph T. Opsitos for 52 years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 25, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 251 East Main Street in Dallastown, with a visitation from 9:30-10:30 a.m. The Reverend Father John A. McCloskey, OFM. Cap will be officiating. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA at 1:30 p.m. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Opsitos was born in Windsor Township on January 4, 1942, the daughter of the late George B. Fleagle, Jr. and Gladys I. (Fauth) Fleagle. After graduating in 1959 from Red Lion, she pursued a career in design drafting. She spent many years living and working overseas with her husband while he served in the Army. She retired in 1990 from Henkel’s and McCoy of York, where she was a design draftsperson. Mrs. Opsitos was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dallastown and Order of the Eastern Star. She volunteered at Red Lion Mobile Foods and Margaret E. Moul Home. Mrs. Opsitos leaves a step son, Michael Nelson of Texas, a step granddaughter, Kourtney; two brothers, George Fleagle, III of York and James Fleagle of Florida; a sister, Joan Snyder of York; a cousin, Michael Paul of Red Lion and nieces and nephews.
