Gladys E. Cashner

Gladys E. Greene Cashner, age 75, of Lock Haven, died at Lock Haven Hospital on Tuesday April 7, 2009. She was born in Lock Haven on Nov. 11, 1933, daughter of the late Robert W. and Helen A. (Peddigree) Barton. Gladys was a member of the First Church of Christ in Flemington and worked as a waitress at many locations in Lock Haven. She was very active in the 40 & 8 Cabane Auxillary, twice serving as state president. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxillary and enjoyed traveling. Surviving is her husband John Cashner whom she married on July 19, 2008 in Lock Haven. Also surviving are her sons: Donald Greene, David Greene, Richard Greene, and Fred P.Greene III all of Lock Haven, daughter: Judy (Nicholas) Kalvin of Naples, Fla., brothers: David Barton of Middleburg and Richard Barton of Cape Coral, Fla. Also surviving are sisters: Kathryn Schwab of Croyden, Pa., Sara Heverly of Blanchard, Lois Falls of Howard, Judy Mauck of Cheyenne, Wyoming, 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 11, 2009 with Rev. Mark Riley officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Friday evening. Interment will be in Mt. Bethel Cemetery in Lamar. Memorials are requested to the First Church of Christ in Flemington.
