Gillian M. Masemore

LOCK HAVEN - Gillian M. (Paddock) Masemore, 83, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018 at her residence with her family by her side. She was born December 12, 1934 in Pinner, England a daughter of the late Robert and Margaret “Madge” (Davidson) Paddock. Gillian was married on May 3, 1958 to Ira G. Masemore who survives. They celebrated 59 years of marriage together. Jill was the owner and operator of Quantock Kennels, a nationally recognized Golden Retriever breeder. She was also known locally for her dog obedience schools and her 20 years as president and advocate for the Clinton County SPCA. She volunteered the ALU book sale, the Salvation Army and the American Cancer Society, driving patients for treatment, as well as fundraising activities and participated in many Relay for Life events. Surviving are 3 remaining golden retrievers; Quantock's Will O' the Wisp (Willow) the last of her breeding line, two rescue goldens Maggie and Jack, her loving husband Ira, one son; Duncan, and daughter-in-law Carol Masemore of Camp Hill, one grandson Aiden. She was preceded in death by a son Andrew in 1981 and a sister Sheila Drew in 2015. A Celebration of Life service will be held from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the Elks Lodge, 216 E. Main St., Lock Haven. The family will provide the flowers. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Clinton County SPCA or the Ira and Gillian Masemore Scholarship Fund through the funeral chapel.
