YORK- Gertrude I. (Dallmeyer) Staub, 89, of West Manchester Township, died Monday, December 10, 2007 at Colonial Manor in York. She was the wife of the late Harold R. Staub. A graveside service will be held privately in Mount Rose Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Staub was born in York on September 20, 1918, a daughter of the late Ernest H. and Catherine M. (Bennett) Dallmeyer. She retired from York Hospital, where she worked in housekeeping for 16 years, prior to that she was a waitress at The Famous Restaurant in York. She was a member of Springdale Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Mrs. Staub leaves four sons: Clifford Staub of Pillow, Charles Staub of East Berlin, David Staub of Berrysburg, and William Staub of Florida, five daughters: Joyce Lloyd of York, Brenda Miller of Stoverstown, Darlene Lewis of Liverpool, Catherine Parks of Dover, and Carolyn Buckingham of North Carolina, 23 grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and eight step great, grandchildren. She also leaves a brother, Roger Dallmeyer of Dover, a sister, Lorraine Kunkel of Gettysburg, two step-daughters: Marie Drennen of Florida and Louise Myers of York. She was preceded in death by a step-son, Harold R. Staub, Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to York Cancer Center, Patient Help Fund, 25 Monument Rd., York, PA 17403 or Asera Care Hospice, 44 Bowman Rd., York, PA 17404.
