Geraldine Jerry (Flick) Hewitt

TROY- Geraldine "Jerry" (Flick) Hewitt, 96, of Troy, PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at the Bradford County Manor. Geraldine was born to Willis and Grace Flick on May 20, 1911, and graduated from Troy High School in 1929. She went to work for P.S. King Hardware until retiring after 23 years. She was a life-long member of the First Methodist Church of Troy and was a member of the first Girl Scout Troop of Troy. She married Carlton W. Hewitt on June 4, 1949. They were married 51 years until his death on February 16, 2000. Nieces Janet Tillotson and Jean Kendall, Norma Bonholal of South Carolina, and Barbara Mercer of Delaware, nephews Robert H. Brown of Elmira, NY, and John H. Hewitt of California survive Geraldine. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carlton, sisters Josephine Brown and Madora Hart, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Glen H. Hewitt and Lucelia F. Hewitt, and a nephew Glen M. Hewitt. The funeral service and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home Inc., 110 West Main Street, Troy, PA, has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that contributions may be made to Bradford County Manor Activity Fund, RR3 Box 322 Troy, PA 16947.
