Geraldine D. “Gerry” (Poff) Stremmel, 91, died on Friday, November 25, 2022 at ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Dallastown. She was the wife of the late Laverne C. Stremmel and the late Paul M. Godfrey.
Per Gerry’s wishes, services will be private at the convenience of the family. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion is in charge of arrangements.
Born on October 26, 1931 in York County, she was a daughter of the late Richard J. and Lydia A. (Strickler) Poff. Mrs. Stremmel was a Secretary/Bookkeeper for 33 years, retiring in 1985.
Geraldine was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Dallastown. She was also a member of the White Rose Chapter of the National Secretaries Association and a member of the York Women’s Chapter of ITC. She and her first husband were members of the White Rose Square Dance Club. After retiring, she spent her winters in Florida with many friends. Her hobbies were cooking, baking, reading and playing games. She also loved volunteering and traveling.
Mrs. Stremmel is survived by two brothers, Ronald Poff and his wife, Sheryl of Mt. Wolf and Richard Poff and his wife, Ruth of Brogue; sister, Charlotte Lintner of Ohio; special nephew, Ricky Poff of Windsor; and great nieces and nephew, Jerred Poff, Brittany Poff and Jamie Daulbert. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Dr. Michael Paul Godfrey.
