Geraldine C. Kline

YORK- Geraldine C. (Brillhart) Kline, 97, passed away, Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Manor Care Health Services North in York. She was the wife of the late Harvey E. Kline. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York, with a viewing from 10-11 a.m. Her pastor, The Reverend Steven Warner will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York. Mrs. Kline was born in York on November 19, 1920, the daughter of the late William F. “Frank” and Pearl E. (Shepp) Brillhart. She retired from McCrory’s Distribution Center where she worked in the packing department. Over the years, she continued to maintain contact with her fellow retirees. Mrs. Kline was a member of Grace Baptist Church in York, Women of the Moose Chapter 694, York VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and AARP. She attended school in York City School District as well as York School of Practical Nursing. She was an avid Penn State Football fan; loved animals, especially cats, and enjoyed traveling, reading novels, country music, and spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Kline leaves a son, Lani R. Buttrey of Winter Haven, FL, a former daughter-in-law, Wanda Buttrey of York, their children, Sherri Dennis and Richard Buttrey; a son, Tom Kessler and his wife Pearl of Red Lion and their children; and a daughter, Barbara Lyter and her family. She had a grandmother-like relationship with Monique Moreno. She was preceded in death by seven brothers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Church, 3920 East Prospect Rd., York, PA 17406 or a local animal shelter.
