RENOVO - Gerald W. Jerp Johnson, age 75, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2011 after a brief illness. Jerp was born on August 23, 1935 in Renovo, Pa. He is survived by brothers: Neil R. (Pat) Johnson of St. Marys, Paul V. Johnson of Breesport, N. Y., and sister: Norma J. (Johnson) Nevins of Horseheads, N. Y. He is also survived by a multitude of nieces and nephews that loved him deeply and that he thought the world of. He was pre-deceased by his parents: Gerald A. and Eva M. (VanSickle) Johnson and also brothers: Dean G. Johnson and Leonard A. Johnson. Jerp worked and retired from Penn Dot after 25 years of loyal and devoted service. He attended the First United Methodist Church in Renovo and S. Renovo Methodist Sunday School faithfully for many years. He enjoyed sports, both as a participant and a fan. He spent many days during the summer playing baseball on the S. Renovo field and winter evenings playing basketball at the South Side gym. The Renovo Railroaders and the Bucktail Bucks never had a more loyal fan. Jerp also enjoyed hunting, but most of all, he enjoyed helping people, in any way, shape, or formhe will be sadly missed by all who knew him. May you rest in peace, Jerp. Memorial services will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 127 Seventh St., Renovo, Pa. at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011 with Pastor Robert Pickering officiating. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service. Memorials are requested to the Western Clinton County Sportsmans Assoc., Rt.#120, Hyner, Pa. 17738. Maxwell Funeral Home of Renovo is in charge of the arrangements.
