Gerald R. Zumbrum

YORK—Gerald R. Zumbrum, 78, passed away Sunday January 16, 2022 at his residence in West Manchester Township. He was the husband of the late Jean A. (Kline) Shaner. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:30AM, Saturday February 19, 2022 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Don Wagner. A Visitation will be from 930-1030AM at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Marburg Memorial Gardens, 2510 Grandview Rd, Hanover, Pa 17331. Military Honors will be provided at the funeral home by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born December 6, 1943 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Raymond and Mary (Rinehart) Zumbrum. He was employed as an electrician for 34 years, working the last 17 with International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union—Local 229 until his retirement in 2004. A United States Army Veteran, he was also a member of both the Viking and Prince Athletic Assoc., Shiloh American Legion and the AmVets of Hanover. He enjoyed playing golf, was a member of Shiloh Lutheran Church and attended Church of the Open Door. Mr. Zumbrum is survived by a daughter, Lori A. Lockhart and husband, William of Sarasota, FL; two grandchildren, Collin W. and Olivia Rose Lockhart; Fiance, Sidney Y. (Gordon) Ferrara of York; one brother, Jeffrey Zumbrum of Hanover; three sisters, Arlene Kopp of Hanover, Joyce Barnhart of Hanover and Judy Rummel of Hanover; sister-in-law, Connie Zumbrum of Hanover and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dean Zumbrum.
