Gerald R. Belcher

YORK Gerald R. Belcher, 72, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Jeanne L. (Hirschbiel) Belcher to whom he was married for five years on August 27, 2010.Funeral services and burial at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery will be private. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements.Born January 19, 1938 in Allentown, he owned and operated Belmed Inc. for 40 years. Mr. Belcher was a car enthusiast and member of National Street Rod Assoc. and Studebaker Drivers Club. He was also a member of 11th Airborne Division Assoc. and the VFW. Gerald will be remembered as a jovial person who was always fun to be around. He was a proud US Army Airborne veteran.In addition to his wife Jeanne, Gerald is surived by a grandson, Nathan. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Michael Belcher.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
