Gerald L. Zeigler

YORK – Gerald L. Zeigler, 85, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Senior Commons at Powder Mill. He was the loving husband of Joyce L. (Neal) Zeigler for 63 years. Born December 17, 1936 in York; a son of the late Gerald E. and Laura (Beckmyer) Zeigler, he was a graduate of West York High School, York Junior College and attended Bucknell University. Mr. Zeigler retired from Global Stone Penroc, where he was a chemist, after 45 years of service in quality control. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, Viking Athletic Assoc. and the BD Club. In addition to his wife, Mr. Zeigler is survived by three children, Steven Zeigler, David Zeigler and wife Judy, and Melissa Renda and husband Frank; grandchildren, Derek Zeigler, Amanda Spangler, Dhylan Zeigler and wife Tina, Anthony Renda and wife Gabrielle, and Nicholas Renda; great grandchildren, Teagan and Mason Spangler; a sister, Cynthia Bernstein; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Douglas Zeigler. Out of respect for Gerald’s wishes, there will be no service. A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be at a later date.
