Gerald L. Shaylor

SAYRE- Gerald L. Shaylor, 78, of Austinville, PA, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2011 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. The graveside committal service to honor Jerry’s life will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Troy, PA with his cousin, Rev. Lee Mead, officiating. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. has been entrusted with the arrangements. Jerry was born on March 8, 1933 in Elmira, NY, son of the late Theodore and Helen (Bradford) Shaylor. He was a 1955 graduate of Troy High School and attended the Wesleyan and Baptist churches in Bentley Creek, PA. Jerry enjoyed going to flea markets and spending time with his “adopted” daughter, Pat Matthews, and her family. Jerry is survived by his “adopted” daughter Patricia (Chuck) Mathews and her family of Bentley Creek, PA, and numerous cousins and friends. His parents preceded him in death.
