Gerald F. “Jerry” Miller, 82, died unexpectantly Saturday, February 24, 2018 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Mausann R. (Ray) Miller and the late Margaret E. (Glase) Miller. A Celebration of Life Service will be 1:30PM, Monday, March 5, 2018 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York. Officiating the service will be his pastor, Rev. Gordon Bowen. Viewings will be held from 5-7PM, Sunday and from 12:30-1:30PM, Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Prospect Hill Cemetery with a flag presentation by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born August 8, 1935 in York, he was a son of the late Harry E. and Annie R. (Stambaugh) Miller. A 1953 graduate of William Penn High School, he also served in the United States Navy. He was employed with AT&T for 30 plus years as a communications technician until his retirement in 1998. Following his retirement he worked at his church as a custodian. Jerry was a member of the Mt. Washington United Brethren In Christ Church, Hawks Gunning Club, Viking Athletic Assoc., Red Lion American Legion, White Rose Polka of York and volunteered at the Appell Center for the Performing Arts. He was also a member and past president of the Golden Nuggets of St. Mary’s and Surviving Spouses. Mr. Miller is also survived by one daughter, Valerie A. Miller and husband, Nathaniel of York; three step grandchildren, Madeline R., Elizabeth M. and Sarah K. Mann; step daughter, Stefanie L. Mann and husband, Christiaan of Baltimore; step son, Brett R. Brightbill of Dallastown; brother, Ervin “Abe” Miller of Jacobus; sister, Anna Mae Naftal of Dover and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Rose M. “Rosie” Duncan, Charlotte R. “Shots” Gordon, Charles A. Miller, Harry E. Miller, Jr., Earl R. Miller, Floyd Miller and Robert Miller. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be to Mt. Washington United Brethren In Christ Church, 710 Copenhaffer Rd, York, Pa 17401 or SPCA, 3159 N. Susquehanna Trail, York, Pa 17406.
