Gerald E. "Jerry" Baker

YORK- Gerald E. “Jerry” Baker, 57, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2015 at Memorial Hospital. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York, with a viewing from 6-7:30p.m. Certified Celebrant Jessica Smith will be officiating at the service. Jerry was born in Chambersburg on April 26, 1958, the son of Shirley A. (Albright) Runkle of Dover and the late Raymond G. Baker. In the 1980’s Jerry worked for York Tent and Awning. Jerry was a 1978 graduate of Central York High School and a 1980 graduate of Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology in Lancaster. He attended York Rescue Mission and enjoyed helping others. Jerry leaves a brother, Kenneth Baker of New York, NY; three sisters, Elizabeth Cooper of Fremont, CA, Debra Kottmyer of Wrightsville, and Sherry Shank of York; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
