YORK - Georgine M. (Burchett) Bortner, 67, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Manor Care Health Services-North. She was the wife of Marlin C. Bortner, to whom she was married for 33 years. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be 7 pm, Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York, with the Reverend Patricia A. Snyder officiating. A viewing will be held from 6-7 pm prior to the service. Born June 2, 1947 in Mt. Holly, N.J., she was the daughter of the late George and Micheline (Gibas) Burchett. Georgine worked as a saleswoman for Brenner Cadillac and Chesapeake Jaguar & Cadillac, and worked for 20 years as the secretary for Belmar Truck Repair. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Georgine loved horses and showed as the Canadian National Champion. She enjoyed playing golf, and was a patron of the arts with skills in both painting and drawing. She loved to travel, was an excellent cook, and took joy in her time spent at the beach. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Michele Trump and husband Jeffrey of Abbottstown, Georgine Stauffer of York, and Lynn Moore and husband Todd of East Berlin; six grandchildren, Chad Bish, Kyra Forry, Erika Harget, and Jeremy, Garret and Allen Stauffer; and five great-grandchildren, Landon, Levi, Samuel, Kendra, and Elena. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Diana Bates.
