Georgia (Reynolds) Ganther

YORK - Georgia (Reynolds) Ganther, 93, of Normandie Ridge, went to her heavenly home on Friday morning, January 11, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Richard O. Ganther on July 19, 2005. Mrs. Ganther was born December 26, 1914, in Burning Springs, Kanawha County, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Vincent D. and India (Starcher) Reynolds. She had been employed as a waitress at the Yorktowne Hotel for many years. She later moved to California where she resided for a period of 30 years before returning to York. Mrs. Ganther is survived by her two daughters, Virginia Hypes of Denver, NC and Dorothy Cawthorn of St. Petersburg, FL; two sons, Robert Eberhart of Pinellas Park, FL and Ronald Eberhart of Temple, GA; a stepson, Richard Ganther and wife, Nancy of York; a stepdaughter, Grace Gettys of Dover; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and a brother, William Reynolds. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Ben Reynolds. Following cremation, a graveside funeral service and burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, January 19 at Mt. Rose Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at the Mt. Rose Ave. entrance of the cemetery at 9:45 a.m. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements.
