Georgia A. (Sacarellos) Kouros

YORK- Georgia A. (Sacarellos) Kouros, 72, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016 at her home, surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was the wife of Apostolos S. Kouros to whom she was married 47 years. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held at noon on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, 2500 Pine Grove Road, York, with Father Andrew N. Tsikitas officiating. A viewing will be held from 11-noon prior to the service. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, is in charge of arrangements. Born February 2, 1944 in Thermon, Trixonidos, Ait/Nias, Greece, Georgia was a daughter of the late George and Athena (Barakos) Sacarellos. Georgia lived in Athens, Greece for 25 years before moving to the United States. She worked as a chef for over 20 years in multiple family restaurant businesses. Georgia was well known for her cooking and skillful work as a seamstress. She had a love for gardening. She was a beloved wife, sister, cousin, aunt, grandmother and a devoted mother of two children. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Kouros is survived by a son, Stavros Kouros and his wife Lynne of Etters; a daughter, Elizabeth "Ellie" Kouros of York; a grandson, Apostolos Kouros; a brother, Dimos Sacarellos and his wife Catherine of York, and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Georgia was preceded in death by two infant siblings, an eight year old brother and a daughter.
