Georgeann (Farino) Simko

HARDING-Georgeann (Farino) Simko, 45, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2013 in Hospice Community Care, Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre. Born on Aug. 17, 1967, she was a daughter of the late George Jones and Isabella Farino. Georgeann was a dedicated LPN. She owned United Home Health Care for 16 years and also worked at Step by Step as an assistant service director. In 1987, she married Theodore Simko. Georgeann and her family enjoyed camping and fishing. She adored her 4 dogs, was an avid Rolling Stones fan and collected the Wizard of Oz memorabilia. Family and friends described her as a genuinely caring and selfless person. She cherished her family and helping others. She especially enjoyed spending time with her two grandchildren. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Shephard. Georgeann is survived by husband, Theodore Simko; sons, Joe Farino and fiancé, Holly Martin and Theodore “T.J” Simko; grandchildren, Jessica Martin and Aiden Smith; brothers, Kevin Farino, who serves in the United States Army and Vince Farino. A memorial service celebrating Georgeann will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Kniffen O’Malley Funeral Home, Inc., Avoca. Officiating will be Monsignor Sempa.
