YORK- George W. "Bud" Bruggeman, 82, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Misericordia Convalescent Home- York. He was the husband of the late Flo O. (Runkle) Bruggeman. A funeral tribute service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Advent Lutheran Church, 1775 E. Market St., York with his pastor, Rev. David L. Ritterpusch officiating. A viewing will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born in York on June 17, 1925, he was a son of the late John F. and Gertrude (Jamison) Burggeman. He was a graduate of York Catholic High School. George served in the US Navy during WWII and was a member of the Seabees Group. He was employed with Dentsply International as a Quality Control Manager for over 40 years and retired in 1987. He was a longtime member of Advent Lutheran Church. George belonged to the Dentsply 25 year club, and the Lutheran Men's club. He was also a life member of the Eagle Fire Company and volunteered for the York Fire Museum. George was recently employed with the York County Fair Grounds as a Concession Manager. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed time on Heritage Hills and Briarwood Golf Courses. Surviving George is a daughter, Patricia and her husband, James Palinkas of Bel Air, MD; two granddaughters, Cindy Palinkas of Easton, MD and Jennifer Palinkas of Corinth, Greece; and a sister, Gertrude Wertz of York. Also surviving is his loving companion of 15 years, Dorothy A. Coates of York. One brother, Blaine Bruggeman and four sisters, Margaret Crimmins, Elizabeth Seiple, Mary Ellen Weisser, and Loretta Zimmerman preceded him in death. Memorial contributions may be made in honor of George at Advent Lutheran Church, 1775 E. Market St., York, PA 17402.
