George S. Shollenberger

POTTSVILLE - George S. Shollenberger, 87, a resident of Rest Haven Nursing Center for the past five years, formerly of Pottsville, died at the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center on Saturday. Born in Orwigsburg on March 20, 1920, he was a son of the late Charles W. and Sallie Ann Berger Shollenberger. He was married to the late Marcella M. Long Shollenberger, who died August 28 1992. He was a member of the Steigerwalt Church of God, McKeansburg. He was also a member of the Franternal Order of the Eagles, Pottsville. Surviving George are: four sisters, Mamie Williams wife of Robert, of Tamaqua, Miriam Kistler, of Lehighton, Mae Bailey, of Tower City and Ruth Hahn, wife of Phil, of Blandon; a brother, Earl Osenbach, husband of Mariam, of Kutztown; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 PM from the Steigerwalt Church of God. The Rev. Eugene Eckroth will officiate. There will be no viewing and no procession from the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Inc. 6th & W. Market St., Pottsville . Interment will be in the church cemetery.
