George Rudolf Naumann

YORK- George Rudolf Naumann, 97, passed away Sunday June 22, 2014 at Lutheran Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, York. He was the husband of the late Clara A. (Moebus) Naumann. The couple were married for 70 years. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held at 4 PM on Thursday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2580 Mt. Rose Ave., York, with The Reverend Tab Cosgrove officiating. A viewing will be held Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the church. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, is in charge of arrangements. Born October 30, 1916 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, George was a son of the late George August and Helene Emma Marie (Willkomm) Naumann. He served as The Pastor of St. John Evangelical Church for over 20 years. He also served as Pastor to congregations in Cleveland, Ohio, Hickory, North Carolina and Towson, Maryland. George was a member of the Yorktown Tennis Club. Mr. Naumann leaves five sons, Paul L. Naumann of Reading, Terrance A. Naumann of King George, VA, Mark A. Naumann of Glen Bernie, MD, George R. Naumann, II of Williamsburg, KY and Joseph L. Naumann of Dallastown; a daughter, Tammi J. Naumann of Harlington, TX; eight grandchildren; a great granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.
