YORK – George W. “Bud” Roth, 86, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at his home. He was the loving husband of Lois Rae (Boyer) Roth to whom he was married for 65 years.

Born September 9, 1938 in York, Bud was a son of the late William Henry and Ruth Elizabeth (Lightner) Roth. After graduating from Dallastown High School, Bud went on to the Army and served from 1961 to 1963. After returning home Bud worked 30 years for McKay Corp as a master welder and machinist. Following his time there he worked for eight years at Garrod Hydraulic. Bud and Lois have been members at Spry Church for 55 years, and they always enjoyed the different church events. Bud was known as a “Jack of all trades”, and there was nothing he couldn’t fix.

In addition to his beloved wife, Bud leaves behind a daughter, Rebecca Willoughby and her husband Mark; two grandchildren, Cooper and Campbell Willoughby; four siblings, Anita Tickle, Mary Ellen Meckley, Susan Rauhauser, and Michael Roth; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bud is preceded in death by a son, Gregory Roth; a grandchild, Parker Willoughby; and two sisters, Carol Lower, and June Fish.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 AM on Friday, November 8, 2024 at Spry Church 50 School Street, York, PA 17402. Prior to the services there will be a visitation from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. There will also be a luncheon following the service at the church. Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. is assisting with arrangements.
