George Richard Kall, Jr.

York- George R. Kall, Jr., 65, died Thursday evening. He was the loving husband of Joan M. (Sowers) Kall. George was born in Pittsburgh on February 22, 1942, a son of the late Esther (Borr) and George R. Kall, Sr. He was a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University and North Carolina State University. After graduation, George became employed with PH Glatfelter as a chemist. He was employed there for 38 years. George was also a member of Red Run United Church of Christ. He was on the Zoning Board for Manchester Township. Gardening and yard work were some of his favorite pastimes. He enjoyed watching, playing and coaching sports. Most of all, George loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. A funeral tribute service is being held 1:00pm, Monday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with the Rev. Stanley Knavel officiating. A visitation is being held Sunday 6- 8:00pm and Monday 12:30- 1:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. In addition to his wife, Joan, George is survived by two sons, Gilbert R. Kall of West Palm Beach, Fl, and George R. Kall III and his wife, Melissa of Herndon, VA; two daughters, Elizabeth A. and her husband Doug Gimbel of Pittsburgh, and Denise M. Kall of Cary, NC; and four grandchildren, Kirsten A., Zachary D., and Adam J. Gimbel and Braden A. Kall.
