George L. Eveler, Jr.

RED LION – Attorney George L. Eveler, Jr., 85, died on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at the Dallastown Nursing Center. He is survived by his wife, Betty (Hilt) Eveler. They had been married 63 years. He is also survived by his children, Andrea Eveler Stanley and her husband Mark; George L. Eveler, III and his wife Kristine; Dawn Persing and her husband Jay; and Jennifer Lloyd. He was preceded in death by his son, Bradley Eveler; and son in law, Mark Lloyd. He enjoyed spending time with his seven grandchildren, Megan and Zachary Persing, Caitlin Stanley Burks and Grant Stanley, Benjamin Eveler, and Alexander and Morgan Lloyd. George is survived by his siblings, Phyllis Eveler, Brenda Saylor, Carolyn Smith, and Bruce Eveler. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Melvin Eveler. Atty. Eveler was a graduate of Red Lion High School, Gettysburg College, and the University of Virginia School of Law. He was a York County attorney for 50 years, spending the last 25 years in practice with his daughter, son and daughter in law at Eveler & Eveler, LLC. He served as director of CCNB and its successor, PNC Bank for 20 years. George was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Lions Club, Red Lion Masonic Lodge, Lafayette Club, and the Country Club of York. He served in the US Navy for two years. George enjoyed reading non-fiction books, golfing, fishing, stamp collecting, and grilling steaks, burgers and fish for his family and friends at his home overlooking the Susquehanna River or at his home on Cudjoe Key, FL. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Grace Lutheran Church, 220 N. Charles St., Red Lion with his pastor, The Rev. Tina M. Melusky officiating. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 PM Wednesday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion and from 1-2:00 PM Thursday at the Church. Burial will be in Windsor Church of God Cemetery.
