RED LION - George L. Dillman, 72, died Monday, March 10, 2008 at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Teressa M. [Shoff] Dillman to whom he was married for 49 years on March 5, 2008. A viewing will be held from 6-8:00 PM Friday, March 14, 2008 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with Full Military Rites provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard at 7:30 PM Friday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be held at 5:00 PM Monday, March 17, 2008 in Dallastown Union Cemetery with Pastor Scott Snyder officiating. A gathering of friends and family will take place at the Red Lion American Legion immediately following the graveside service. Born June 15, 1935 in Lewistown, a son of the late Gervis and Olie (Goodman) Dillman, he was a 1953 graduate of Milton S. Hershey High School. He retired from Fincor Automation in 1998 after 32 years of service. Mr. Dillman was a member of Red Lion American Legion, Post 543; enjoyed woodworking and upholstering; was a charter member of Southern York Co. Channel 2 C/B Club; and was the founder of the "Proudly We Came" marching unit. He was a former member of Dallastown Jaycees. Mr. Dillman was a proud veteran of the US Navy. In addition to his wife, Mr. Dillman is survived by a son, Glen V. Dillman and companion Julia Swank of York; four daughters, Coleen K. and husband Clyde Ness of Red Lion, Wanda L. and husband Jeffrey Gowland of York, Laurie J. Reichard and companion Mike Dellone of Dallastown, and Cheryl A. Stine and companion Todd Ness of Hellam; five grandchildren, Valerie and husband Lee, Kelly, Trina, Ashley, and Adam; three brothers, Jackie Dillman of York, Tommy Nicolay of Arizona, Pete Thompson of Illinois; a half brother, Robert Dillman of Mifflintown; two sisters, LaRue Strope of Arizona, Jeanie Auffret of Arizona; and a half sister, Sherrie Dillman of Mifflintown.
