George J. Gramil

Red Lion - George J. Gramil, 88, passed away on Thursday July 8, 2021 at ManorCare Dallastown. George is the husband of Caroline C. (Chiapparelli) Gramil. The couple celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on June 28. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory Inc. is in charge of arrangements. Born in Baltimore on August 4, 1932, George was the son of the late George and Frances (Wojick) Gramil. After serving our country in the US Navy, George worked for many years at Bethlehem Steel as a metallurgic specialist until his retirement. In his younger years, George was scouted and drafted by many professional football teams. He was a proud member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. After his retirement, he worked as a ticket taker at the Orioles’ stadium. In his spare time, Mr. Gramil loved going to the casinos in Atlantic City. Ocean City, Maryland is where he loved to vacation with his family. George, who was never without a smile, will be remembered as a sweet unassuming gentleman. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Caroline; two daughters, Jeri Gramil of Frederick, MD, Teri Hall and her husband, Michael of Airville, PA; grandchildren, Dylan Daugherity, Cathan Daugherity, Emelia Strobel, Jessica Fantasie; 10 great-grandchildren; brother Thomas Gramil and his wife, Bernadine; nephews David Gramil and his wife, Vickie, Jonathan Gramil and his wife, Diane, Matthew Gramil and his wife, Bree.
