George F. Wilson, Sr.

GILLETT- George F. Wilson Sr., 87, passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2007 at Troy Hospital. Family and friends are welcome to call from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home Inc., 110 West Main Street, Troy, PA. The funeral service to honor George's life will be held Wednesday, March 14th at 8:00 P.M. with Rev. Charles Root officiating. Burial will be in Gillett Cemetery at the convenience of the family. George was a veteran of World War II, worked and retired from both the Pennsylvania Railroad and General Electric. He was an avid horseshoe player, he enjoyed bowling and fishing his whole life, and he will be missed by all who knew him. George is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Susan and Bill Burdick of Gillett, PA, son and daughter-in-laws Richard and Regina Wilson of Wellsburg, NY and Charles and Sue Wilson of Southport, NY, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, with special thanks to his granddaughter Missy (Daughtery) Warren and to all the staff at Troy Hospital for their help and support. Two sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, and his special friend Lucille Gernert also survive him. George was preceded in death by his wife Alice Wilson, daughter Ruth Ann Lowry and sons Thomas Wilson and George Wilson, Jr.
