George F. Long

RED LION- George F. Long, 90 of Windsor Township, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at his residence. He leaves his partner of 49 years, Shirley Waltimyer.

Mr. Long was born in Auburn, PA on February 18, 1932, the son of the late Roy Long and Hanna (Minnich) Lymaster. He was raised by his late uncle Paul and Mabel Brown in Schuylkill Haven. He retired from Bae Systems in 1995, after 21 years of service. He was past president of the retirees of United Steelworkers Local 7687.

Along with his companion, Shirley Waltimyer, George leaves two sons, David Long and his wife Kathy and Michael “Mick” Long and his wife Tina; three daughters Tina Shoff and her husband Shorty, Susan Ogle, and Carol Johnson and her husband Ron; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; Shirley’s children, Carroll Waltimyer, Jr. and his companion Gretchen Myers, Joe Waltimyer and his wife Sandy, and Julie Mackie and her husband Barry; and a half-brother, Jim Lymaster. He was preceded in death by a half-sister, Mary Moyer.
