George Delvon Davis

WILKES-BARRE-George Delvon Davis, 84, of Wilkes-Barre passed away unexpectedly at his home. Born in Wilkes-Barre on June 18, 1925 he was the son of the late Delvon and Laura E. Jones Davis. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist church were he was active as an Usher. He was also a 32nd degree Mason of the Golden Rule Lodge #15, Wilkes-Barre. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce in 1997. Surviving are cousins, Mary E. Bines, Pastor Doris Harris, Minister Dorothy A. Carr and Mary A. Bines, all of Dayton, OH; and a step daughter, Elizabeth Anderson. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 5:30 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 105 Hill Street, Wilkes-Barre with The Reverend Michael Brewster and The Reverend George Smith officiating. Friends may call from 5:00 until 5:30. Interment prayers will be Wednesday at 10AM in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Twp. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
