George Charles Dice, Sr.

George Charles Dice, Sr.

RED LION- George Charles Dice, Sr., 82 of York Township, passed away Monday, February 5, 2024 at his residence. He was the husband of Maribel Nissley (Erb) Dice. The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on December 7, 2023.


A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on February 17, 2024 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion, with a visitation from 10-11 a.m. A flag folding with taps will be performed by York County Veterans Honor Guard at the start of the service. Certified Celebrant Allison Duke will be officiating at the service. Burial will be private in Risser’s Mennonite Cemetery in Elizabethtown.


Mr. Dice was born in Hershey on April 14, 1941, the son of the late Walter M. and Beatrice (Risser) Dice. Mr. Dice retired as the chief engineer at Weldon Solutions, building CNC Grinders in West York.


He had attended Missionary Alliance Church in the past. He was a life member of S.M.E. (Society of Manufacturing and Engineers). He enjoyed carpentry and woodworking, gardening and canning as well as enjoying his role as a grandparent. He and his wife enjoyed their rural cabin in the mountains.  He served in the US Army.


Mr. Dice leaves a son, Chuck Dice, Jr. and his wife Cynde of Hellam, a daughter, Stephanie Gotwalt and her husband James of Stafford, VA; five grandchildren, David Hittie, Lee Dice, Zachary Dice, Erik Gotwalt, and Ashley Coleman; five great grandchildren; two brothers, John Dice and his wife Chris and Jim Dice and his wife Cheryl; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Constance Light, a son-in-law, Lester Hittie, and a great granddaughter Calianna Hittie.
