George B. Trimmer

YORK George B. Trimmer, 86, died at 6:40 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2007, at The Village at Sprenkle Drive. He was the husband of Nadine L. (Weaver) Trimmer with whom he celebrated a 50th wedding anniversary on September 29th. A memorial service celebrating Mr. Trimmer's life will be 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 839 W. Market St., York with his pastor, the Rev. Kevin T. Shively, officiating. A visitation with light refreshments will follow the service at church. Private burial with military rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard will be at Shiloh Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Trimmer was born November 13, 1920, in York. He was the son of the late John and Louise (Reiff) Trimmer. He was a 1938 graduate of William Penn Senior High School and then served as a Sergeant with the 78th Fighter Combat Squadron in the US Army Air Corp. Later, in 1950, he graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business and was a lifelong, self-employed, manufacturer's sales representative. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, SCORE, the YMCA Wisemans Club, and the Shiloh American Legion. In addition to his wife, Mr. Trimmer also leaves his son, Mark Trimmer and wife, Robyn of Sea Girt. NJ; two granddaughters, Kerry and Lisa Trimmer; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his five siblings. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 839 W. Market St., York, PA 17404.
